Unscathed RNG Story Walkthrough
Acts, bosses, and expedition doors — the PvE path that runs beside the roll pad.
Unscathed RNG is not only a roll button. There is a story behind the hub world, a chain of acts that unlock new destinations, NPCs, and expedition content. This walkthrough covers the PvE progression from the Sensei tutorial through the Badlands. If you only want to roll, use the getting started guide. If you want to fight, stay here.
Act 1: the tutorial islands
The game opens with the Traveler handing you your first rolls and the Sensei teaching combat. The Sensei gives you a starter aura and sends you into a practice fight. Finish or skip both prompts so the left HUD, the roll button, and Settings exist. Do not argue about which element to pick — you will replace the starter within the hour.
The tutorial islands are instanced. You cannot see other players here. Once you leave, you enter the hub world where biomes rotate, NPCs walk, and the roll pad is the default camera. Read controls if the HUD looks different from what the tutorial showed.
Act 2: story battles and the quest board
After the tutorial, story battles unlock from the quest board near the hub center. Each act sends you into a turn-based fight against NPCs or bosses with increasing HP pools. The first few acts are clearable with any aura that has a Normal skill. By act three or four, you need a Critical skill to keep up with the damage check.
If a fight stalls, your auras are the bottleneck, not your level. Equip a full-kit aura from the tier list — Flame, Geoshade, Ascend, Soulbound, Fallen, or Aqua. Read how to beat bosses for loadout logic. Read combat and elements so you are not swinging Fire into Water.
The quest board also tracks side objectives: roll counts, NPC visits, and crafting milestones. These feed achievements and EXP. Check the board between fights instead of sprinting to the next door.
Boss Rush: the mid-game skill check
Boss Rush is a gauntlet mode where you fight multiple bosses back-to-back with limited healing. It unlocks after enough story progress and sits near the battle teleporter. Boss Rush is where three-aura loadouts matter most — you need element coverage, Critical skills, and enough HP from the skill tree to survive a miss from a 70% Crit.
The boss guide covers individual fights. Boss Rush is about resource management across rounds. Do not blow your best potions on round one. If a round stalls, leave, farm, and return with better gear from the Blacksmith.
Expeditions: the Traveler and the Badlands
The Traveler at the dojo stairs offers expeditions once you meet certain story and roll milestones. The Badlands is the first major expedition destination. It is a separate area with its own encounters, loot tables, and NPC dialogue. It is not a biome — you can be in the Badlands and still be on Normal biome timing.
Before you enter an expedition, check three things: your loadout of three auras, your potion bag, and the current biome. Expeditions cost time, and time during a matching biome window is worth more on the roll pad than in a dungeon. Use Normal biome for expeditions and elemental biomes for rolling.
PvP: the player fight track
PvP unlocks when your kit has a Critical skill and you understand element pressure. It is not a requirement for story progress. Read the PvP guide before you queue. PvP matches are turn-based like PvE, but human opponents exploit weaknesses that NPCs ignore.
The endgame loop
After the story and the expeditions, Unscathed RNG becomes a loop: roll during biome windows, sell duplicates, craft at the Blacksmith and Alchemist, upgrade gems and traits at the shard NPC, and chase the next aura from the tier list. The luck planner is the preflight checklist. The aura odds helper is the reality check.
The story is the tutorial. The pad is the game. The expeditions are the detour. If you finish the story and do not know what to do next, open how to get rare auras — that page is the endgame.
A session checklist
- Check the biome.
- Redeem any new codes.
- Equip a full-kit aura and two backups.
- Open the luck planner and tick what is on.
- Drink potions only during the matching window.
- Roll until the window ends.
- Sell duplicates at the Blacksmith.
- Check the quest board for story progress.
- Repeat.
If a fight is too hard, the answer is always a better aura or a better element match, not a higher level. The getting started guide is the first hour. This walkthrough is the first week. After that, the wiki has no more hold-your-hand pages — just hubs and tools.
